Super excited to present Maitea Teas…
Isn’t it wonderful when you are dreamily chugging along in life and you come across something that tantalises your taste-buds and makes you do a double take, then reach for a second helping…I have been lucky enough to get my hands on some of the delectable Maitea tea range and I have not been disappointed!
Special Offer for the month of November 2019 – Place an order with Maitea and use this code to receive a 10% discount – MaiteaChest
Queen of the teas in my book is Bohemian Rhapsody – a Rooibos blend (traditional Rooibos is created by fermenting the leaves) with calendula flowers, vanilla bean, orange peel, rose petals and cacao nibs – looks as pretty as it sounds and tastes spectacular. I would describe it as an interesting but perfectly matched blend. Best to steep at 100 degrees C for 5 mins ♥
Liquorice Spice has a lovely warming effect and leaves a great after taste. It’s a herbal tisane with liqurice root, cloves, cinnamon and orange peel – such a fabulous pick me up for a cooler day. Recommended to steep for 6 minutes at 100°C ♥
A fun herbal infusion that doubles as an iced tea is the Mexican Mango Chilli, this is great as it has two of my favourite flavours; bush honey and chilli! Mixed with pieces of cranberry, mango, marigold and amaranth this combination looks as exotic as it sounds Steep at 100°C for 5 – 8 minutes ♥

Another amazing thing about Maitea is they offer tea education courses starting with an entry level tea appreciation evening where they look at how to approach a tea and the different types of teas available. Then by arrangement with their Australian counterparts they bring the very highly regarded Professional Tea Sommileer, Tea Blending and Tea Master qualifications. The courses are normally conducted in Auckland, New Zealand. These professional courses are run multiple times throughout the year over a 2-3 day intensive course followed by 14-26 weeks of remote study and practical assignments.
And speaking of Tea Blending…Custom Blending is a sensational idea for individual customers and businesses alike. Imagine creating your own special tea blend for a special occasion like a wedding, birthday, or as a unique Christmas gift! If you own a company this would be a fantastic marketing opportunity, who wouldn’t love extra special tea that is created just for you? Available in loose-leaf form there is an the option to provide your own packaging if you have something particular in mind. Blended in Tauranga, New Zealand by Certified Tea Masters, Maitea provide a highly collaborative approach to blending a very special creation just for you. I feel I need to give this some serious thought and maybe come up with a Tea Chest Blog Special Blend ♥ What do you think??

Recently I have been following your blog, I have always liked tea but my experience of tea has been limited to the Tetley type of tea in stores. I actually ordered a london fog the other day rather than my normal double-double and oh my word it was amazing! I’m pretty sure the only reason I switched it up is from your blog and seeing all these amazing teas I have never heard of or thought of trying. I know its not that great of adventure but I think it might replace my coffee order now haha. Thanks for inspiring!

The courses mentioned sound fab. I had no idea you could study the art of blending tea but it makes perfect sense. I love the idea of having a special blend created to suit an occasion. I definitely think a Tea Chest Blog Blend is called for- I’d try it! You’ve also sold me on Bohemian Rhapsody & the Mexican Mango Chili teas. Can’t wait to try them. 🌶 improves everything in my opinion.
