Over the Teacups #6

Welcome to #6 in the Over the Teacups Series, I have had such a positive response to these they just keep flowing. Let me know if you are after a particular genre of blog, but I am loving discovering blogs I wouldn’t normally be looking for. So why do people start blogging? For some it is a life long passion to write and this is a stepping stone to their bigger goals, others enjoy the release this offers – just to be able to pop their thoughts down, share and let them go. Some bloggers started up as a way to connect with people from all around the world, sell a product, enlighten, educate, promote or just for fun. The Tea Chest started a little over a year ago as a way for me to share my absolute love of tea and everything that encompasses – teacups, teapots, tea accessories, traditions, culture and ceremonies the list goes on; All About Me gives a brief insight on how The Tea Chest came about. It has grown into a place to share our adventure of Buying a Yacht, sailing around the world and discovering teas as we go. My chap is super supportive and gets utilised as chief proof reader, editor, suggestion maker and tea brewer for each post. It’s great to have his input and he is my go to for anything yacht terminology related! I can honestly say that through blogging I have found my tribe – I have ‘e-met’ like minded friends from all over the world who are struggling with the same things, celebrating the small wins and loving the journey, however it started. Next on the agenda is to organise a Zoom call with my blogging tribe to enjoy a Virtual Tea Party

Confessions of a Patchwork Momma has become a firm favourite of mine. Robin is an American expatriate who blogs about natural living with her big, blended family in rural Ireland. She and her partner Christy were featured in the Parents for the Planet series because of their commitment to sustainability. Read about how they decided to become parents again in their 40s here. This eclectic lifestyle blog ranges in topics from parenting, books, crafts, food, and more. If any of that interests you, which I am sure it must, put the kettle on and say hello!  Robin can also be found on Instagram or Twitter.

Her personal lifestyle blog, Buffalo Sauce Everywhere, allows her to fulfill both of these passions because she can help people using her words. She writes about anything from mental health to Disney World to curly fries with her own humorous and sassy slant. She enjoys taking her readers along with her as she navigates life’s twists, turns, and random misadventures. Brew a cup of tea and enjoy ♥

What do you enjoy drinking while you are whittling away the hours with your blog? My go to is usually Earl Grey, I love the aroma of Bergamot and if I can, I indulge in French Earl Grey which has citrus bergamot in it and sometimes a sprinkle of lavender. I find this to be relaxing but also mentally stimulating at the same time. However, as I am currently in a country where the temperatures are climbing rapidly I have re-discovered my love for iced tea. It is tricky to get here but I do love a chilled Pomegranate Tea if I can get it ♥ Some other great drinks to enjoy while blogging, researching or creating are of course water which is fabulous plain or spiced up with lemon or mint leaves. Fruit smoothies are another way to keep up the energy levels, I need to start blending up some magic again. And of course there is coffee. Now I’m not a coffee drinker but those of you who do enjoy it, tell me your favourite blend or way to enjoy. Remember to keep hydrated whatever your passion ♥

I would love to have more bloggers featuring on future posts so please, if you know of anyone who may be interested let me know. Any genre, anywhere, any social media accounts, doesn’t matter what their experience is be it a brand new blogger, someone needing a boost or a really popular and successful blogger – Everyone is welcome! All I ask is that I receive a brief blurb about the blog, any links associated and that once published they share the post…I will do the rest ♥ I look forward to hearing from you ♥

  1. Thanks for including my current blog in this list, Justine! I look forward to checking out the other blogs mentioned- with a cup of tea of course.😊Earl Grey is one of my favourites too. I don’t drink it every day and tend to reserve it for moments when I need an extra pick me up. I start every morning with a cappuccino or americano but the rest of day is devoted to tea. 🍵I think your idea of a Zoom tea party is really creative! Recently I “met” a blogger friend from 8 years ago when she attended my Zoom Zumba class. It was awesome! We can make beautiful connections through this platform. 💖

  7. TEA!

I’ve got a few in my cabinet right now. Mostly ’cause I can only microwave water for tea right now. I really want to get an electric kettle where I can set the temperature based on what kind of tea I’m brewing. I had one once and the hype is REAL. I can’t wait to start drinking tea like I used to again. Will definitely be back!

Be well be safe and maybe you can sail into Haven marina at Ipswich and stay over a couple of days. We are only twenty miles from there and The Husband and I are perfect hosts I have tea and he has a gamut of sailing tales.
