Over the Teacups #10

Perhaps that is the true gift of a teatime celebration:

It fills our cups with joy and warmth and friendship. May the echo of the teacups’ message be heard not only at Christmas, not only on special occasions, but anytime friends come together.

Emilie Barnes

Friendships are such special things, maybe now more than ever. I have an eclectic group of friends from all over the world, from all walks of life. Different occupations, different view points, lifestyles, all totally different and I love that about them…they all bring something special and unique into my life. Living away from my ‘normal’ life and country this past year has been an incredible experience, not only with the world’s situation but in our own world of yachts, different culture. language, people etc. It has made me stop and smell the roses – literally! I have had time to re-calibrate my brain, refocus myself, reconnect with my chap, relax and realise how deeply grateful I am for so many things, my friends being one of them. I don’t think I ever took my friends for granted but I do feel that I could be more present. By present I don’t mean on their doorstep every other day, I mean calling them on the phone instead of a quick text, leaving a voice mail, dropping them a card just to say hi, really listening if they reach out…being there for them in a deeper more centred capacity.

Stacey found this treasure in her garage! Staceys Cakes is definitely worth checking out – wonderfully creative and superbly delicious cakes for all occasions ♥ Her Instagram is just dreamy!

Now not all of my friends are into tea quite the way I am, but they support me, take photos and send them through randomly and follow my many memes, platforms and posts – I can’t ask for better than that. I think I may have even assisted in a few of them coming out of their comfort zones and trying some different teas. I reached out to my friends a few months back and asked for pictures of their teacups, tea-sets, teapots, or accessories. Anything to do with tea really! The reason was tri-fold. Yes, I desperately wanted to see some pretty tea things because they don’t have them here like they do elsewhere and I was missing the prettiness of them. But I also wanted to touch base with like-minded friends, check in on them and share the joy of sharing, and lastly so I could share their beauties with you all here. I was so lucky to receive masses of photos of my friend’s collections, cafe experiences, special tea art and even some recipes! I was totally overwhelmed by the effort they went to with photographs, placement, telling me the little stories that came with them. It truly made my heart full and once again feel truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. I have linked a lot of their businesses and blogs to their photos as well so make sure you look through them, they would love the support ♥ Let me know your favourites and if you would like any of your special ‘tea things’ showcased here drop me an email.

So, this Over the Teacups edition is going to be the last one…for a while at least. I have really enjoyed sharing blogs and business and if you have missed any of the editions I have linked them all below ♥ New and exciting things to come, so please keep following and sharing! Please enjoy these wonderful blogs I have discovered, click through to their sites and follow or leave them a comment – it is always welcome.

♥ Fiona hails from a small semi-rural village in Surrey, South East England. Her blog Country Rambles is one of my favourites and I love her Instagram, which I shamelessly stalk daily. Country Rambles intends to embrace country life and the beautiful English countryside. Fiona is a work in process to living a simpler life growing her own vegetables, keeping chickens (she even got eggs last week!) and out enjoying country or coastal days with her gorgeous dogs. I loved her posts about Making Your Own Compost and this beautiful poem about the Rain. You can enjoy this fun space on Facebook and Twitter as well.

♥ Stacy from White Feather Dreams is a professional Dream Translator with over 30 years experience. She is passionate about people and understanding the importance of their dreams in relation to their life. Stacy says “dreams are like having your own personal Sat Nav, it’s like a life guide”.  I found this blog article Mirror Image? very interesting. Look into the wonderfully insightful world of dreams on Stacy’s website or you can find her on Twitter

♥ Arianna is a wonderfully inspirational film, travel and motivational blogger. Her blog Aloha Arianna is packed full of beautiful images, information and humour. Get your travel fix for 2020 here where you can safely ‘e-visit’ Italy and Hawaii. Arianna also has a book of poems due out soon. The collection of poems is inspired by nature, healing and finding your passion; all written while recovering from her concussion – which took more than 5 years. Definitely worth popping in and perusing. Make sure you follow Aloha Arianna on Instagram or her Blog.

♥ Cheryl has the Born in a Car blog, why Born in a Car? Because she was! And the excitement hasn’t stopped there, Cheryl is having an incredibly exotic life. Born in a Car covers all kinds of things related to life, traveling, and Russia after living there for more than 10 years with her French husband.  Cheryl’s love of blogging and her zest for travel and life is quite contagious and I found myself reading through so many of her posts. Romania and Bulgaria are on my bucket list of places to visit so I loved these posts in particular. You can find Born in A Car on Pinterest too.

Fadima Mooneira is a vibrant and fun filled blog covering lifestyle, travel, pop-culture, and endutainment (sic). Malaysian culture, travel and lifestyle is of particular interest. Fadima’s My Top 5 Favourite Beverages Before Bedtime caught my eye with the inclusion of some of my preferred teas. As well as blogging, there is a very colourful art page worth a visit on Instagram. Fadima Mooneira can be followed on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook

♥ Lindsay’s blog Live Parent Teach Repeat will have you laughing out loud and if you are like me, relating to her real life anecdotes. Lindsay nonchalantly told me her blog is basically her musings about life as a wife, parent, French teacher and dog owner to a gorgeous Springer Spaniel. I think it is way better than that! She writes to entertain (which she undoubtedly does), get things off her chest and warn new parents about the perils to come! Her post How to Waste A Day will give you an idea of what to expect, and a definite chuckle. Do grab a cup of tea and enjoy following Lindsay on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter

“Our Happiness Journal” – This blog is very special to me, my dear friends Gavin and Tracey have created a wonderful space on a topic very dear to my heart ♥ Happiness ♥
While living in Koh Phangan, Thailand, Tracey and Gavin found themselves surrounded by such infinite beauty. The people, the nature, the weather, the food and they found a whole new level of happiness. They decided to create a very special place people could share their own happiness and thus “Our Happiness Journal” was born. Please take some time to enjoy and follow, you won’t regret it.

  2. I am honoured to be here and read your lovely comments. In the saucer of my strawberry cup (my everyday huge tea cup in the top photo) is the last remnants of my wedding boquet. A rosebud dried slowly with the gentle breath of lovers, and an ageless amount of time.

  3. Thanks for mentioning me and my blog, Born in a Car, in your post! I’m drooling over all those beautiful teacup photos – memories of my dear Nana who was always with a cup of tea made in a teapot, never a teabag!
