Welcome back to my Over the Teacups Series where I share my love of blogging and new bloggers links I have discovered over recent months. I would love to have more bloggers featuring on future posts so please, if you know of anyone who may be interested let me know. Any genre, anywhere, any social media accounts, doesn’t matter what their experience is be it a brand new blogger, someone needing a boost or a really popular and successful blogger – Everyone is welcome! All I ask is that I receive a brief blurb about the blog, any links associated and that once published they share the post…I will do the rest ♥ I look forward to hearing from you ♥

This time in history is definitely an interesting one, and I find myself experiencing it in an apartment in Southern Turkey with my darling chap. I have days where I am so very happy to be here, fully immersed in the Turkish way of life, taking full advantage of everyday living, the sites, the sounds and smells, experiencing this all with the love of my life ♥ Then I have days when I pine for everything familiar to me; my family, my friends, my house, my job and my country. The comfort of home is a very strong pull some days. So I have started a few ‘self care’ routines. On is writing a Gratitude Journal, for memory sake but also as a way to remind myself of how fortunate I am to have this opportunity and to take a breath, relax and look at how far I have come and to look forward to all of the amazing adventures we have yet to experience. Writing in my journal has been a new and thought provoking thing for me. I wanted to write something more meaningful than I am grateful for…, so I was more specific, naming people, why I am grateful to have them in my life and what I cherished the most about them. This has helped me enormously to really take some time out, gather my thoughts and embrace the challenge of expressing myself in a private forum. I have never been one for showing my emotions to all and sundry, but I have taken from this life changing situation we find ourselves in that it is OK to reach out and say ‘Hey there, you popped into my thoughts today. Just wanted to say hi. How is everything in your world?’

Another thing I do, which is nothing new really…is ‘Take Tea’. Now by this I don’t mean whip up a quick cuppa and carry on. I mean take the time to stop what I am doing, enjoy choosing a cup and a type of tea, taking note of the brewing process, and embracing the fragrance and flavour of my freshly brewed cup of tea. I then take my tea to a quiet spot, breathe and enjoy my surroundings, the sun, the birds, the calm. Check out an amazing Moon Ritual here on my blog post Breathe and Embrace Your Tea. What have you changed or discovered these past few weeks to help your journey?

My recent blog discoveries have given me insurmountable joy. I have the time to read, re-read and appreciate them and this is my way of acknowledging their efforts and passion. Please enjoy, share and let me know what you think:

Adulting and Adventure is a fresh and sassy blog from a younger generations perspective. Raw and real this young blogger has everything going for her and such a mature writing style. Read all About how Heidi started her blog and what she has planned. Follow her adventures through her blog or Twitter as she heads off into the big wide world of university, relationship challenges and life. You’ve got this Heidi!!

Alcyone is a Greek goddess of the moon, the sea, calm, and tranquility, so it is fitting that Rayo at The Alcyone blogs about wellness and skincare. Her page brings with it a feeling of serenity with beautiful and fitting graphics. Lots of interesting and relevant topics being discussed, one of which I found particularly interesting The Effect of Sugar on Skin Aging and How to Fight Glycation – definitely worth a visit.

A Boho Life – Sarah is a Boho blogger, Bohemian lover, free-spirited hippy at heart. She blogs about travel, off-grid living, holistic wellness and alternative lifestyles. This blog will get your senses going on so many levels, the details, images and enchanting descriptions have you enthralled from beginning to end. Her post Divine Smell: Nag Champa had me transporting back into my memory banks of burning incense and candle making times ♥ Indulge yourself and check out this amazing blogger on Instagram or Twitter.

Javier is a college student and is all over his blog The Basketball Journey. Javier is an up and coming NBA basketball star who is sharing his journey, beliefs and passion in this ‘to the point’ blog. Some positive and powerful words in Defy Obstacles and Challenges. Follow his story, triumphs and frank points of view, you can also find him on Twitter.

Aisling is an Irish Lass who confesses to not being much of a tea drinker!! I won’t hold that against her. She has two different blogs, one being This Dreams Alive where she blogs about eco-friendly living, bucket lists, music, book reviews and coffee (must work on converting this to tea;)). You can also find Aisling at Prickly Pineapples where she covers veganism, health, and body positivity. Loads of tantalising recipes, natural remedies and guest blogs to keep you fully entertained. My favourite post from Prickly Pineapples – love that name by the way, is 5 Reasons to Eat Dark Chocolate Every Day. Do drop in and enjoy ♥

Gabrielle at Mommy Nursey has created a new mommy/lifestyle blog designed to reach and relate to different mommies from all over the world! Her goal is to help as many mommies as she can with relatable topics. Letting her audience know that she is a regular mom, just like them, is very important to Gabrielle and it shines through in her blog ♥ Have a look at her post 15 Fun and New Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day, there are some great suggestions in there. You can find Gabrielle on Facebook or Instagram.

Look after yourself and stay in touch, I love hearing your ideas, suggestions and requests!

  1. I love reading your blogs Justine. Always honest and inspiring. I’m going to start my gratitude journal instead of just thinking about it now. This time and situation we’ve all been in, has given time for us all to hopefully reflect on our life and where we fit in it. I’m having a cuppa tea with you.

  2. Love the gratitude journal idea Justine, keeps you in check. It’s a great idea for anyone and everyone! Also love your taking the time to make and enjoy your tea, not just gulp it down and keep going. Both ideas are more of what everyone should be doing. Slow down, notice and enjoy. ❤

  5. Ohh the view you have! I’m sure it’s so nice to drink your tea on the veranda and look out at that beautiful view. I definitely feel the same way you do, enjoying some of the changes due to the virus but still missing the normalcy. My last few weeks have actually led me to blogging and although I want the world to heal I definitely love the blog life!

    1. That’s wonderful to hear. Not sure what normal is anymore, but I think we have all taken something from this experience. Stay safe and well.
