Finally, after a year of hard work, planning and organisation we are ready to head off on our big adventure. Some may call it an OE or a holiday but to us this is an adventure of a lifetime and something we are so ready for. We had originally talked about this trip as a retirement-type thing to do. Children ensconced in their own lives, mortgages paid, work wrapped up and not quite ready to be confined to the Granny garden and bowling club. But things change, life changes and irreversible things happen to friends and family…we have lost a few close friends over the past year or so, not old, some of them weren’t sick, they just died and it is a huge tragedy that they didn’t get to play out the things they had planned to do with their loved ones when the time was right. This was the push we needed to make our dream come true. So…let’s do this while we are young enough and fit enough to not only undertake such an adventure but also to enjoy it.

A grand adventure is about to begin…

So where are we headed? First stop is Singapore where we are boarding a cruise ship for 12 days around South East Asia. Can’t wait to experience the colours, smells, the noise, the tastes and of course the teas 😉 We return to Singapore after the cruise and then we are flying to Turkey to purchase a yacht…so we can sail the Mediterranean, Baltic and around Europe. We have been talking about it solidly for a year, and now we are nearly there. Can’t believe it is finally about to happen. The countdown is on to January 2020.

  7. I agree! So many wait for retirement and by then, if not before we are caring for our own parents or grandkids. By the time it’s your turn to “live” a dream you may not be fit or well enough to enjoy it. My husband and I are trying to figure this out for ourselves. This inspires me!
