At Christmas, tea is compulsory. Relatives are optional.

Merry Christmas to one and all…and how exciting for me to be able to celebrate the month of December and the buildup to Christmas with a Tea Advent Calendar! Clipper Teas Company released a wonderful treat for tea lovers in the form of an advent calendar. A tea box shaped design with opening side panels to display with a slot in the middle where you can retrieve one of 12 different organic tea varieties for 24 days of December. Packaged individually there is a wonderful selection of their teas all ready for a daily cuppa. It really is a fun way to experience some of the Clipper Teas range.

Clipper Teas are based in Surrey, England and are all about natural, fair and delicious – great tag line huh! They use organic products, no nasty pesticides in their teas. Clipper Teas is the largest Fairtrade tea brand in the world!! They source the best possible teas for their blends and have a wonderful array of teas available for every palate. December 1 & 13 Happy Mondays – Lemon and ginger flavoured infusion with cracked black pepper. Nice zingy way to start the day.
December 2 & 14 Wild Berry – Bilberry infusion with hibiscus and rosehip too. One of those teas that has a lovely berry aroma that tingles the senses.
December 3 & 15 Rise & Shine – Lemon flavoured infusion with lemongrass, mate, and lemon verbena. I love anything with Lemon Verbena in it, brings back a raft of happy childhood memories.
December 4 & 16 Detox – A refreshing infusion of hibiscus, nettle, aloe vera and liquorice root.

December 5 & 17 Orange and Lemon – Lemongrass, lemon verbena and orange peel are the stars of this lovely light infusion.
December 6 & 18 Calmer Cameleon – Organic chamomile, honeybush and cinnamon blend together to make a relaxing tea with a hint of warmth to it.
December 7 & 19 Love Me Truly – Cinnamon Chai which is a wonderful mix of orange peel, fennel seed, ginger root, cinnamon, cloves and liquorice root. Makes for a spicy treat to get you through the afternoon.
December 8 & 20 Snore and Peace – This was my absolute favourite blend of chamomile, lemon balm and lavender. A beautiful relaxing fragrant tea.

December 9 & 21 Green Tea and Lemon – Lightly flavoured with lemon this green tea was enjoyable and very easy to drink.
December 10 & 22 Liquorice and Peppermint – What a great combination liquorice and peppermint is, surprisingly delicious and I would like to have more of this one.
December 11 & 23 Lemon and Ginger – A hearty blend of lemongrass ginger root, liquorice root, orange and lemon peel that I steeped for around 4 minutes to fully capture all of those flavours.
December 12 & 24 Nighty Night – Orange flavoured tea infusion with cinnamon, chamomile and lemon balm. A great way to help wind down after a hectic day of present wrapping!

I know I know, I emptied the whole box of tea out already and it isn’t even Christmas Eve! But in my defense it was purely for photographic reasons to share with you all, and there are 2 of each flavour so everything from now on is a repeat performance. I do promise that they are safely tucked back in the advent calendar for me to enjoy daily for the rest of advent.
